Göreme Valley is a must-see for those who visit Cappadocia, which was registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. Göreme Valley, or Göreme Open Air Museum as it is known today, is one of the must-see places. This valley in the town of Göreme is a settlement that hosted Anatolian Christians from the 4th century to the 13th century with its churches, chapels and dining halls carved into the rocks. The venues in the valley offer a visual feast ranging from rough geometric ornaments to finely crafted frescoes featuring scenes from the life of Jesus. The Girls' and Boys' Monastery, St. Basil's Church, Elmalı Church, St. Barbara's Church, Yılanlı Church, Mutfak-Kiler, Yemekhane, Karanlık Church, St. Catherine's Chapel and Çarıklı Church are the venues waiting for your visit in the museum.
